This article is written in Australian English, which has its own spelling conventions (colour, realise, program, labour (but Labor Party)) and some terms that are used in it may be different or absent from other varieties of English. According to the relevant style guide, this should not be changed without broad consensus.

Graduation

The year of graduation is conventionally defined as the year in which the degree was conferred, not final year, hence 1962 for John Howard, not 1961. Brothers

His brothers were Walter Lyall (1926-2019), Stanley Joseph (1930-2014) and Robert Falconer (1936). Stanley's death notice is at https://tributes.smh.com.au/obituaries/109646/stanley-howard/ and Walter's is at https://tributes.smh.com.au/obituaries/126958/walter-lyall-howard/.

John Howard image

Can This image be used as the main one on the John Howard wikipedia page?--Celco85Celco85 (talk) 11:41, 29 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Photo should be more recent, I request that we change it to this this one from 2014.

Oppose. I don't think we need to use the latter as that image makes Howard's skin tone look warmer than the former, clearer looking image, and little context has been provided about why we must use the second image. Howard's image doesn't need to be changed as he is still active in politics especially the internal workings of the Liberal Party, he was also campaigning for the Liberal Party in the 2022 federal election.^[1] Qwerty123M (talk) 11:46, 23 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

This is the long term version of the infobox image prior to Celco85's change. The version they edited in is a retouched version which reduced contrast and smothed out skin tones and hence has less depth.
